Neonatal Myasthenia Gravis

A case of neonatal myasthenia gravis who showed symptoms soon after brrth was studied at Presbyterian Medical Center, Chon Ju Korea. Symptoms were relieved by neostigmine, which was first given intramuscularly and later by mouth. When neostigmine dose was reduced symptoms recurred. Neostigmine was stopped after 24 days without recurrence of symptoms. Infant’s mother has had myasthenia gravis since 1967.

Three cases of methemoglobinemia treated at Presbyterian medical center Hospital are reported. Case 1: a 1860 gm premature infant was the first infant admitted to our new premature nursery. Infant gained well without complications until age of one month when he suddenly developed severe-cyanosis, listlessness and poor sucking.
